They Hang You I’ll Always Remember
You
In 1999, the Mystery Guild published
a series of reprints honoring their
selection of the fifty greatest
crime writers of the twentieth
century. The Guild commissioned RC
to write the introduction for
Dashiell Hammett’s brilliant and
classic crime novel, The Maltese
Falcon.
Archie
and Me
RC penned this introduction to a
reprint edition of Rex Stout’s
Before Midnight. In it, he discusses
not only Stout’s classic creations,
Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin, but
also his own Elvis Cole and Joe
Pike.
Wayne
Warga is Alive and Well at 6000 Feet
This appreciation was written upon
the death of RC’s close friend, the
writer and journalist Wayne Warga.
It was originally published in the
newsletter of the Southern
California Chapter of the Mystery
Writers of America.
